How Do I Meet the Financial Requirements for a K1 Visa Thailand?

In order to screen the intending migrants, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS for brevity) requires the U.S. citizen fianc� to submit along with his Petition for Alien Fianc� an Affidavit of Support using Form I-134. This affidavit will serve as a basis for the determination whether the petitioner (U.S. citizen fianc�) meets the income eligibility.

The financial requirement for K1 visa is dependent on the poverty level on the state of residence of the U.S. citizen fianc�. His monthly income has to meet at least 100% of the poverty guideline for his state of residence.
For example, for the year 2009 if the U.S. citizen fianc� is living alone in the state of Colombia, the poverty guideline is $10,830.00. He has to meet 100% of this value which is $10,830.00.
How to Meet the Financial Requirement?
There are several ways to prove that the petitioner is financially adequate to sponsor his fianc�e. The supporting documents applicable will mainly hinge on his source of income. Here are some of the papers USCIS prescribed as admissible evidence:
a. Bank statement duly issued indicating the date account was opened, total amount of deposit for the past year and the current balance.
b. Letter of employer (on business stationery) stating the date and nature of employment, salary and the status of the position (temporary or permanent).
c. Copy of the most recent income tax return filed
d. List of bonds and name of record owner.
If any of the abovementioned documents that have been given reflects that the income is above or at least equal the respective poverty guideline, the petitioner will be deemed qualified financially to sponsor his fianc�e.
